Create one row per furniture type
For each room, record quantity, approximate size, material, condition, and whether the piece is assembled. Separate L-shaped desk returns, conference-table leaves, and modular panels so the count matches the physical work.
Remove information and electronics
Empty drawers and cabinets. Remove paper files, keys, drives, computers, displays, cables, and personal property. Furniture hauling does not automatically include records management or electronic-waste handling.
Document building logistics
Ask property management about freight-elevator reservations, loading docks, parking, floor protection, insurance documents, and access windows. These are property-specific conditions; do not assume one building’s rules apply to another.
Flag items that need separate review
Identify fire-rated cabinets, safes, wall-mounted systems, powered sit-stand desks, damaged glass, and unusually dense conference tables. Mechanical assistance and clear passageways may be appropriate for large or bulky loads, consistent with OSHA material-handling guidance.
Use this checklist
Choose the next step that fits the item
Albuquerque residential customers can check the city’s current large-item pickup rules for eligible curbside furniture. If the job needs indoor carry-out, stairs, disassembly, or a coordinated item list, prepare those details before requesting private removal.
